Brentford Lock West is a RIBA award-winning regeneration development positioned in a much-loved corner of London that is steeped in history, situated along the banks of the Grand Union Canal.
We’re transforming an area that has suffered from the decline of industries, leaving an unsightly mix of derelict buildings and neglected waterside. To help kick-start the local economy, which has struggled with the decline of its high street over the last decade, 70,000 sq ft of commercial space will create around 300 new jobs and £2 million has been earmarked for investment in health and education facilities.
The development has been designed with a vision in mind, to create inspiring shared spaces that bring residents together. We have created high quality public realm, herb gardens, allotments and communal courtyards, which are breathing life back into the water’s edge.
We’ve made improvements to reinvigorate the waterways, including the addition of new visitor mooring and hook-up points, along with the installation of a new floating pontoon to be used by the local canoe club.
